Nov. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- African Impact’s new site also offers an expansion of their traditional high-quality volunteer options, as well as an introduction of internship placements, travel and safari opportunities as they head into 2010 and their 6th year of operation.

THE AFRICAN SPECIALISTS

Having already proved themselves as Africa’s leading voluntourism organization, their recent list of accolades includes a British Youth Travel Association finalists nomination for Green Tourism in 2009; as well as finalists nominations in both The World Travel Awards 2009 and South Africa’s prestigious Imvelo Responsible Tourism Awards for 2009, this recent expansion comes as no surprise.

“Introducing innovative travel options through our new ‘Learn with us’ and ‘Explore with us’ portfolios on our new site is our way of expanding our footprint in Africa and continuing our legacy of responsible and meaningful travel. This, coupled with offering travelers more life-changing African experiences to choose from, is really what keeps us motivated and operating with passion and pride” says Founder & Marketing Director Sarah Graham.

African Impact is also in proud partnership with The Princeton in Africa Foundation, facilitating long-term learning opportunities. http://www.princeton.edu/piaf/ - an institution that is a hallmark to educational and responsible travel throughout the world. Mark Stevens is a Princeton alum and is currently on a one year PIAF fellowship with African Impact at their Livingstone volunteer base near The Victoria Falls in Zambia. "Life on the project [in Zambia] is progressing well.  In such a short period of time, we have provided electricity to a local school, overhauled an Adult Literacy Course, tended to countless patients in home based care and clinic visits, helped a local farm harvest crops and prepare for the rainy season, placed numerous teaching volunteers in understaffed and underfunded community schools and made significant progress on the completion of a permanent classroom block for a local school.  It is amazing to see the progression of projects over time and see the meaningful impact volunteers from around the world can have so quickly.  I am excited for the new volunteers and new projects in the months to come."
