Released in 2009, “There’s A Train…” features catchy originals as well as traditional favorites in the style of early Rock’n’Roll, Rhythm & Blues, Punk, Ska and Country. Guest musicians include Johnny Neel (Allman Brothers, Johnny Neel Band), Hank Carter (George Thorogood Band), Simon Illa (R&B Producer), Nik Everett (acclaimed singer songwriter), Wally Smith (Quincy, Crosstown Traffic) and Marc Moss (production credits include David Bromberg, and Cliff Hillis). NAPPA Judge John Woods says, “"Tremendous kid-centered sensibility in this pleasing mixture of originals and re-voiced classics. Can’t say enough about Currier’s smoky vocals, the rocking arrangements and the seamless mix and pacing of this outstanding collection – so I won’t – but pick this thing up and you won’t put it down. But wait, there’s more! Currier has singlehandedly resuscitated 'Wheels on the Bus' from the bone heap of banality, thank you!" John Wood, Kidzmusic.com.
Now in its 18th year, NAPPA is a well-known name in the world of children’s learning and entertainment. Parents, relatives and those who work with children rely on NAPPA’s recommendation of high-quality toys and products that provide “smart fun,” good design, and grow with children’s ever-expanding interests and skills. Full results will be announced November 1, 2009 in more than 40 regional parenting magazines across the country and online at Parenthood.com.
About Parent’s Choice;
Designed to help parents and caregivers of all achievements and backgrounds make informed decisions about which new products are right for their children, the Parents' Choice Awards is the nation's oldest nonprofit program created to recognize quality children's media. The Parents' Choice Awards program honors the best material for children: books, toys, music and storytelling, magazines, software, videogames, television and websites. Parents' Choice Foundation's panels of educators, scientists, performing artists, librarians, parents and, yes, kids themselves, identify the very best products for children of different ages and backgrounds, and of varied skill and interest levels.
