Nov. 23, 2009 - PRLog -- Before Honda released the first generation of Honda Civic to the market in 1972, they had a vision of designing and manufacturing a car that was both fuel efficient and had high performance. The first generation was a hit in the market especially because of the fuel crisis experienced a year after its release. Since then Honda has continued with this vision and each generation of Civics released are fuel efficient as well as high performance cars.

A lot has been said about the 2006 Honda Civic. It can easily be termed as one of Honda’s most successful cars in the whole international market. It topped the best selling list of cars shortly after its release and has received awards for being one of the most successful cars in the market. The 2009 Honda Civic is believed to be the next best selling Honda in the market especially now with the increase in fuel prices globally.

With all this hype about the 2006 and 2009 Civics, not much has been mentioned about the 2008 Honda Civic. This is strange since this generation of Hondas is believed to be ranked amongst the highest in its class when it comes to reliability and fuel economy. The sedans and coupes in this generation are also very affordable.

Honda chose to maintain its tradition when it came to the engine of the 2008 Civic. The car still has a four cylinder engine with a capacity of 1.8 liters. It also provides you with a high performance of 140 horsepower. The standard five-speed manual transmission is still available in his generation as well as the option of the five-speed automatic.

The only two models that differ in terms of the engines they use are the Si and GX. The Si engine has a higher capacity of 2.0 liters. This means that the performance of the engine is much higher. The engine produces power of up to 197 hp. The transmission is a six speed manual. The GX as with previous GX models runs on natural gas.

The new addition to the Civic family in this generation of cars is the EX-L trim. This car offers you the choice of new technology such as a navigation system. You also have the option of having all trims fitted with a standard tire pressure monitor.

Before the release of the 2008 Civics, Honda teamed p with Mugen Motorsports to design and manufacture another new addition to the Honda family. This was the Si Mugen. This car is available only in the sedan model. This car was installed with many sporty features so as to appeal to the younger more sporty generation. It also has a Twin-Ring Motegi track-tuned suspension.  http://www.hondacivic.info/

The 2008 Honda Civic has as much to offer as any other generation of Civic that the Honda Company has released. It may not have received as much coverage and reviews as the 2006 and 2009 Civics, but is just as exciting as either generation. This generation of Civics was after all a redesign of the 2006 Civics which was a hit across the American markets.
