Commercial Forest Products Donates Hardwood to Wood Shop Program

Nov. 21, 2009 - PRLog -- Darin Petzold's wood shop class at Serrano Intermediate School will be working with Honduras mahogany and pacific coast alder thanks to a gift from Commercial Forest Products.

Petzold teaches the only remaining intermediate school wood shop class in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District. He connected with CFP President, Stephen Ondich through www.woodworkingteachers.net, an online forum.  According to Ondich, "Due to budget constraints, many wood shop classes have ceased. Those that remain have little funding. Darin probably has the only wood shop class in California that is working with honduras mahogany this year."

Petzold commented "There is no way Serrano Intermediate School could have afforded such wood. The students and I are very grateful."
