Nov. 18, 2009 - PRLog -- An entrepreneur coach is an executive coach who is tasked to render consulting services to an entrepreneur and a startup organization. An executive coach is usually focused on growth and turn-around strategy of an organization where an entrepreneur coach focuses on helping create a great startup environment, search for financing sources, hire key resources for the organization, and build the right, scalable, flexible, and affordable infrastructure associated with the organization.

An entrepreneur coach is one who focuses on rendering strategies to startup businesses. In many cases, entrepreneurs are individuals who are great at delivery of a great product or service such as technical folks, bakers, doctors, plumbers, and lawyers. However, in many cases, they are either not interested or knowledgeable about starting and/or managing a successful business. In such cases, an entrepreneur coach could guide them in identifying the basic steps needed in starting up and managing a business and to coach the entrepreneur in building an effective, successful organization. This entrepreneur coach will also help with establishing a board of directors to support the future initiatives of the organization; and a board of advisors to provide advice in various decisions needed to be made for business. The entrepreneur coach could also support the marketing, public relations, and sales team building of the organization.

In many cases, the entrepreneur coach knows of various financing sources that could be appropriate for startup organizations which could support its growth strategies. The entrepreneur coach could advise founders of the company of the pluses and minus of each financing source and to recommend the most appropriate option.

The executive coach, on the other hand, works hand-in-hand with the executive team and board of directors of an existing organization to help create strategies for growth, expansion, or turn-around of the business. In addition, this executive coach could help resolve specific issues in the organization such as conflict management, team effectiveness, governance, and change management. An executive coach will work with each team to train them on skills necessary for an organizational leader, such as interviewing techniques, employee removal, goal setting, and problem solving.

Both executive coach and entrepreneur coach share the goal of organizational success with the founders, executives, and board of directors of the organization. They help them create goals, and strategies to achieve those goals, and detailed plans for implementing such strategies. They also help in creating performance measurements that would gauge success or failure of each plan.
