Tackle Box of Savings announced that they are working on a brand new trade publication that will serve the sportfishing industry. It is scheduled for release early 2010. This magazine will be different from other magazines in that it will only contain advertisements from manufacturers directed towards retail dealers. Their magazine will not contain any articles or editorial content. This style of magazine is known as a direct mail magazine.

Company founder Keith Tauber said that "Direct mail magazines are sweeping the nation and are a great tool for marketing to targeted and specific niches within an industry. The sportfishing industry is in need of a magazine like this which will benefit the advertiser with lower ad rates than typically found in traditional magazines". Keith went on to say that "Dealers love this style of magazine also as it allows them to quickly and easily find the products that they are interested in, without having to wade through pages and pages of content to find the ads".

TBOS, which is the name of this new publication will be printed on 60lb glossy stock and will be a standard 8.25" x 10.75" sized publication. Page count target initially is 32 pages. Their magazine will also contain larger ads. Keith stressed that this is because the rates are so low that there was no need for a classified section in the back with tiny ads. The ad sizes available in this magazine are: Front cover, back cover, 2 page spread, full page, half page and quarter page. The magazine will also organize the ads according to size. So the magazine would be sorted in this fashion: 2 page spreads, full page, half page and then quarter page ads. This is done to award the companies who buy a larger ad by positioning their ads closer to the front Keith said.

The circulation of the magazine will be 30,000. The recipients are made up of retail stores such as: tackle shops, sporting goods stores, marinas, boat dealers, boat repair facilities, boat storage yards, large box retail chains,  marine supplies, and even some hunting equipment stores. They state that this circulation is at least 60% larger than other competitor magazines serving this trade.

Another key element being offered by them is that they do not charge for use of color. Also they provide free ad design.
