Blue Chip Vacations Donates Luxury Week in the South Hams To Children in Need Auction

Nov. 16, 2009 - PRLog -- Possibly one of the most dramatic and romantic beach-side locations in the UK, At The Beach in Torcross, South Hams, has breathtaking views of the sea and a stunning three mile beach, made famous as a training ground by US Army forces preparing for the D-Day invasion in World War II.  

As part of the auction item Blue Chip Vacations is also throwing in a meal at the 14th Century Start Bay Inn and a special vegbox from Riverford, which will contain supplies to keep even the heartiest of eaters happy during their self-catering stay.  This auction item has a value in the region of £900.

Commenting on the donation Alan Taylor, Managing Director of Blue Chip Vacations, said: “We’ve been working closely with Nick Hellings and Gary Kallis, who own a number of the At the Beach properties at Torcross, to create an auction item that will help to raise many hundreds of pounds for Children in Need.  We’re all very excited at the prospect of thousands of listeners bidding for one of our most popular holiday destinations and we’d encourage anyone looking for an extra special present, or perhaps a group of four friends hoping to get a great deal, to tune in to the Judi Spiers show this week and bid for this fabulous item.”  

Judi Spiers, who presents her show on BBC Radio Devon between 0900 and 1200, Monday to Friday, commented on the donation saying: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of businesses around the county.  Last year we raised an amazing £24,000.  This year we have an even more fabulous array of items and with Blue Chip Vacations’ amazing break in Torcross, we hope to far exceed this target.”
