Be a Queen for a Day – Send Christmas Cards to Noah, a boy with Cancer

Queen for a Day Heros Celebrating the Courage of Children with Cancer

Nov. 13, 2009 - PRLog -- West Bloomfield, MI – Local author, Lori Faitel, is a volunteer with Queen for a Day, a non-profit organization who helps brighten the lives of children with cancer.  Cancer is devastating for anyone; it is especially sad when a child is in their final stages.

Noah Biorkman is a 5 year old boy in the last stages of a 2-1/2 year battle with Neuroblastoma Cancer.  The family is celebrating Christmas early this year and Noah’s request is to get lots of Christmas cards.  Lori is asking the public to please send Christmas cards to Noah Biorkman at 1141 Fountain Viewcircle; South Lyon, MI  48178.

Queen for a Day is headquartered in Mississippi and was founded in 2000.  To date, there are over 30 local Queen for a Day chapters on over 20 states.  Each local chapter hosts “Queen for a Day” and “Hero” parties at area pediatric cancer facilities.  Little girls are given their own tiara, manicures and feather boas; little boys receive firefighter-themed play kits and get to spend time with local heroes; firefighters and police officers.

Queen for a Day and Heroes is a non-profit charity whose mission is to raise the self-esteem and confidence of children with cancer. To learn more about this charity, volunteer for events, or make a donation, visit their website at http://www.detroitqfad.com/index.html
