Nov. 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Walsh Family Media founder, Patrick Walsh, is showing his flair for independence by riding a tricycle from Downtown Brooklyn to Midtown Manhattan. The historic event entitled ‘It’s On!’, seeks to raise funds for St. Vincent’s Services, celebrate the spirit of independent filmmaking and promote and announce the completion date for Walsh Family Media's first full length feature film, “The Cool Beans: We Need a Hit”.

Walsh Family Media is all about keeping things cool. Their flagship property, ‘The Cool Beans’ were created to help fill a void in family entertainment by making ‘healthy’ hip again. The Cool Beans are designed to be positive role models and to encourage sound morals and healthy active lifestyles in today’s youth. In 2006 WFM hosted “The Worlds Largest Big Wheel Race”. Apart from having a blast, participants were educated in healthy eating habits.

And speaking of keeping things cool, Walsh hopes to bring a smile to people’s faces by doing the silly and the impossible –riding a tricycle.  The Walsh family is hoping that the idea of a grown man riding a tricycle from Brooklyn to Manhattan will help draw attention to community organizations like Saint Vincent’s Services and Independent film in NY.

According to Walsh, the concept of the tricycle ride was born from a photograph taken by renowned photographer, Eugene Pierce.  The photo depicts Patrick on a tricycle in the streets of Manhattan and it has become a symbol of spirit and independence to Walsh Family Media.  Eugene Pierce will be covering the historic tricycle ride and photos will be available after the event.

Patrick Walsh stated, “It’s the coming of age for our company. It's staying in tune with the community, an outstanding philanthropy like St. Vincent’s, and independent film. It's bringing recognition to those who really need it; the heartbeat of America, the working class, the people that have dreams and are trying to realize them.”

‘It’s On!’ takes place November 11th starting at 7:30am in Downtown Brooklyn.  Additional event details can be found online at http://Itsonnyc.com

Walsh Family Media

Walsh Family Media is an independent intellectual property developer and animation studio based in NYC. Started in 2002 by Hollywood stuntman and entrepreneur Patrick Walsh Jr., WFM has been developing animated properties and creating an innovative computer generated animation workflow while remaining relatively under the radar. Now, with its first CG feature film halfway animated, a sequel in preproduction and a thriving service division catering to film and commercial clients, the company is emerging as a major player in the entertainment and media industry.  Their flagship property “The Cool Beans” will be featured in the upcoming film release “The Cool Beans: We Need a Hit”.

WFM is hoping that the Its On event will cast some much needed eyes on the efforts of St. Vincent's services as well as provide insight into the nature of the struggles of independent filmmakers in NYC and all around the world. As we overcome our struggles day by day, laughing in the face of the impossible, we are reminded that in the end, making a difference in our community and inspiring others to do the same is what it’s all about. Its On!!!
