Nov. 6, 2009 - PRLog -- With double digit unemployment in Los Angeles, some folks may need to reinvent themselves and learn new skills. The hope is, of course, with these new skills they can get what they want the most – a job.  Let’s Learn Bookkeeping can help with both.  LLB is currently enrolling for Fall and Winter classes. LLB teaches people the trade of bookkeeping in just nine weeks. All businesses need bookkeepers, and skilled bookkeepers are hard to find. LLB also offers a three-week QuickBooks course. Both of these courses have been designed and are taught by a CPA. The graduates of these programs are highly skilled and marketable candidates for the work force. “Our goal is to provide people with a marketable trade,” stated Jeanne Berry CPA Founder of LLB.

Let’s Learn Bookkeeping has an internship program available to its graduates. This internship program takes the graduate and places them with a local business to be the business’s bookkeeper. The business dictates the number of hours it needs the intern. Our intern is paid $10-$12 per hour, and the business gets a well trained professional. LLB provides technical support for the intern as a benefit. “This makes it a real win-win situation, the business gets a highly-trained professional, and the intern gets real world experience that may end up in a permanent position,” states Mrs. Berry.

The LLB courses are also for business owners or others who need to gain a more thorough understanding of bookkeeping and QuickBooks. In today’s high technology world, many times, the bookkeeping “skill” is based on knowledge of software programs. Any situation which demands academic knowledge of the accounting cycle and the business owner/employee is stopped dead in their tracks. Small and medium size business owners may be lacking the financial recordkeeping proficiency to help them be better fiscal managers. Your own bookkeeping staff may have only “on the job” training and could use intensive instruction on the fundamentals of the accounting cycle. “This internship program is not an employment agency, but an opportunity for both the local businesses and the graduates to have their professional needs met, and have a real win-win situation,” stated Jeanne Berry CPA.
