Nov. 3, 2009 - PRLog -- The Society of Education Consultants has announced that a workshop at the SEC conference and AGM in November will be led by Paul Perlin, founder of Paul Perlin & Co chartered accountants. The workshop will be of benefit to any education consultants who are considering starting up their own education consultancy, and consultants who have been in practice for some time, but haven't had the opportunity to speak to an accountant. The conference is taking place at the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts (RSA) on Friday 20th November 2009. For more information, and to register for attendance, visit www.sec.org.uk or call 0845 345 7932.

"A significant proportion of our members are self-employed education consultants, or have joined the SEC in preparation for starting their own education consultancy firm," said Adam Caller, Marketing Officer for the SEC. "In light of this, we felt it would be of benefit to our members to have specialist advice from a chartered accountant who is highly experienced in advising businesses at both the start up stage, and later in the business lifecycle too. Paul will be available to answer individual questions, such as those regarding the best structure for a new consultancy firm, concerns about VAT and tax advice."

"Paul Perlin established his accountancy firm thirty years ago," Adam continued. "As well as being an expert in the intricacies of business finance, he is also very approachable, and sympathetic to the concerns of individuals striking out on their own. Paul sees recession as a time of opportunity, when people who have been fearful about leaving a stable job suddenly find themselves in different circumstances and are no longer held back. I'm sure that his enthusiasm and encouragement, coupled with solid financial advice will be well received at the November conference," Adam concluded.
