Nov. 2, 2009 - PRLog -- Strokes for Hope: One World One Art International Goodwill Tour is a unique travelling art show sponsored by the online art community “OneWorldOneArt”. The International Tour will launch with an Opening Reception in New York this coming April (2010).

The exhibition is comprised of a collection of works by artists from around the world. The theme that binds these artists together is reflected in the title, “Strokes for Hope”.  The title refers to painting with compassion and a forward vision. It suggests that works in the exhibit reflect, on some level, that the artist is thinking about issues such as world peace, hunger and poverty that require positive social change. It is hoped that works will create some viewer awareness or stimulate public thought/action about these types of issues.

Exhibitions are planned in the U.S., U.K., Spain, Portugal, Egypt, and Pakistan. It is hoped that over the two-year tour, other venues will be added.

Director of the exhibition is Phil Dynan, a working artist for more than 35 years. Dynan has worked as a judge for the U.S. Treasury, the California State Fair and recently directed the “Images From a Glass Eye: An International Photo Exhibit”. He is also Co-Director of the Red Bluff Art Gallery, an International art gallery in Northern California.

“We hope to raise awareness of several issues of global importance, but we also will be raising funds for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF),” Dynan says.

One World One Art is an international arts organization, founded in 2009 by Kristen Beil and Motrya Tomycz. It's mission is to promote global consciousness by bringing artists together and empowering them to use their talents to make a positive impact; be it within their homes, their communities, or in the world at large. OWOA (as it's called for short) provides a platform for artists of all disciplines and cultures to come together, share information, exchange ideas, forge collaborations and participate in humanitarian projects. Additionally, OWOA aims to organize special events, film and music festivals, art exhibits and fundraisers that encourage volunteerism, as well as sponsor specific projects conceived by it's members. The International Goodwill Tour is the first of such collaborations.

MSF is an independent international medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, or exclusion from health care in more than 60 countries.

The exhibit is currently accepting art applications from artists interested in participating in this project at their website: www.owoatour.info.
