Nov. 2, 2009 - PRLog -- {Austin, Texas} – Launched in March 2009, Real Brazil Travel (www.realbraziltravel) is a boutique travel agency bringing fresh ideas and new concepts to break old paradigms of the traditional travel industry. Real Brazil Travel’s goal is to serve Americans looking for alternatives to a typical vacation by connecting them to amazing, authentic and unspoiled beach destinations in Northeast Brazil.

To many people, Brazil’s main tourist destinations are Rio de Janeiro, the Amazon, or Iguassu Falls. With a land mass roughly the size of the United States and over 4,650 miles of coastline, there is still a large part of the country yet to be discovered by most Americans. Visitors to Brazil have been captivated by its natural beauty, friendly people, and rich cultural heritage, and the Northeast also reflects those traits.

Real Brazil’s founder, Daniela Schuch explains, “I started Real Brazil Travel to promote Brazil’s Northeast region and provide personalized services, customized itineraries, and in-depth insight to our clients.”  She adds, “Our business focuses on only Northeast Brazil, enabling us to deliver the best service, the most accurate recommendations, and specialized itineraries through our handpicked supplier network.”

Brazil’s Northeast has become an international hot spot, due in part to its natural beauty, accessibility, authenticity and unique accommodations.  However, a study conducted by Embratur, Brazil’s Ministry of Tourism, indicates that less than 15% of Brazil’s visitors are coming from the U.S.*

Press coverage of the region by Conde Nast Traveler** and Travel+Leisure*** indicate that the region has become a preferred destination for the discerning traveler, offering them new options and experiences when choosing their next vacation.

According to Schuch, “Today’s traveler is looking for luxury in the form of solitude, escape, and something which feels real and authentic. They want to connect with the local people, support the environment and locally owned business and stay in unique hotels.”

Major U.S. Airlines are taking notice as well. Recently, U.S. carriers have expanded service to offer direct service to gateway cities in the Northeast including Recife, and Salvador. Both cities modern international airports are close to several beach destinations. Last month American Airlines announced it had entered into a partnership with Gol, Brazil’s fastest growing airline. This follows a similar announcement in 2007 in between United Airlines and TAM, Brazil’s largest airline.

Among her recommendations are:

Fernando de Noronha, Pernambuco – An island 200 miles from Recife, is essentially a nature preserve, offering world class diving and eco-tourism options

Trancoso, Bahia – South of Salvador, this beach has received lots of attention recently for being a hip chic destination

Morro de Sao Paulo, Bahia – Just a 25 minute plane ride from Salvador’s airport, this island offers convenience, secluded beaches, and nightlife options
