Oct. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Even at a very young age, children are able to discern that money is valuable and that it is important in life.  Once they are school-aged, many have a basic understanding that money can be traded for things such as candy or the newest toy on the market.  As parents, it is important to realize that kids make money, or desire to, for their own reasons and not ours.  How can parents help their children see value in what we consider important when it comes to making money?

Nicole Clemow's Squidoo lens, Kids Make Money , http://www.squidoo.com/kids-makemoney was created for just this task.  It covers an eye-opening exercise that will give parents an insight into their children's values.   As you might already know, values drive everything we do.  This worthwhile lens will help you teach your children that making money isn't only about spending it on “stuff”.  The exercise is shown in a straight forward manner which helps parents teach their children how money relates to core values including:

- Integrity
- Good decision making  (looking at desires versus needs)
- Positive and compatible relationships
- Community and social responsibility
- Generosity

The Kids Make Money Squidoo lens http://www.squidoo.com/kids-makemoney is a valuable tool that can be used with kids of any age.  In fact, it can be used every year to see how your children's values change over time.  Using the information at Kids Make Money  will prove to be a great step toward empowering your children with good money management habits that will last a lifetime.
