Oct. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Volunteers Needed for Tax Assistance Program
Last year, VITA volunteers at CADCOM prepared over 670 tax returns for low-income families. As a result, $1,014,741 in tax refunds and credit were returned to Montgomery County residents during tax season. This year, we are looking for volunteers in the Willow Grove area to assist in this effort to provide free tax preparation services to residents of Willow Grove and surrounding communities. We want to reach more taxpayers who were eligible for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), but have not claimed it.
As a VITA Volunteer, You Can Make a Difference in many lives
Your time could be worth $1000 per hour for each family served WOW, the community needs you.
Volunteers get FREE training and are certified by the IRS. Hours are flexible and several positions are available: coordinators, tax preparer, quality reviewer, screener, greeter, etc. A minimum of one 3 hour time period per week is required from Feb.1 – Apr. 15, 2010
This is a great opportunity for those looking to help others. You can also acquire new skills and boost your resume at the same time. Join the Montgomery Co. “Money in you Pocket” Campaign and experience the reward for yourself and others!
