Oct. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Art is a hammer to beat the world, not a mirror to reflect it....... Vladimir Mayakovsky.

LOS ANGELES, Ca. -For the second year in a row, the highly acclaimed "Art is a Hammer" exhibit will take place at this year’s "We the People" Music, Arts & Cultural Festival, located at the famous Los Angeles Center Studios in the heart of beautiful downtown Los Angeles. The collaborative project will feature talented artists such as Yo!Peace, an international roster of graphic artists, printmakers, and visual artists from all walks of life.

Attendees can witness the first sculpture unveiling by Mear, who is commonly referred to as the "Michelangelo of graffiti". The Unification Theory will feature a uniquely improvised art experience created by members Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca, Mann One and Overton Loyd.  Other artists include Vyal, Spectr, Contra , Karen "The Fury”, John Miner, Phix Medium, Robert Vargas, John Parks, as well as live screen printing by GrowYourOwn MEDIA.

Each year, our coalition of artists gather together at the "We the People" Festival to bring their unique style of artistry, often described as fine art mashed up with raw street expression. "Art is a hammer" is not a usual art exhibit; from the smashed wreckage something beautiful is forged.  Most of the work is improvised live in front of the crowds and contains social and political conscious works, as well as peaceful alternatives to war. Attendees are encouraged to bring their cameras.

The 4th Annual "We the People" Music, Arts & Cultural Festival will take place on Saturday November 21, 2009. Headliners include Bad Religion, Suicidal Tendencies, Pepper, Madvillain, Glitch Mob, Flobots, and a very special live DJ Set by Will I AM of the Black Eyed Peas. In addition to Art is a Hammer there will be a kids’ corner (children under the age of ten get in for free), cultural dancers, socially conscious speakers, and so much more!

Presale Tickets can be purchased online at www.groovetickets.com for $40. Tickets will also be available at the door, the day of the event.  Tickets range from $40 - $75 for VIP. Visit www.wtpfest.com for a list of local ticket outlets.
