Lachlan Gunn appointed as ATMIA Consultant

Lachlan Gunn, the lead consultant of BenAlpin Ltd, has been appointed as an approved consultant and trainer by the global ATM Industry Association (ATMIA). ATMIA has just launched a new Consultancy and Training practice and online portal.
 
Oct. 22, 2009 - PRLog -- Lachlan Gunn, the lead consultant of BenAlpin Ltd, has been appointed as an approved consultant and trainer by the global ATM Industry Association (ATMIA).  ATMIA has just launched a new Consultancy and Training practice and online portal.

The mission of this new practice is to develop and manage a professional body of outsourced consultants, specialists and trainers across the full range of the industry in every chapter of the organization.

Lachlan is acknowledged in Europe as an international security adviser and as a consultant to the ATM industry.  With a security career spanning 29 years and 14 countries he has a proven track record in managing and advising businesses across the world, with a particular focus on Banks and Financial Institutions.  Europe based, Lachlan can also offer support to businesses in the Middle East and Asia.

In addition to being Director of BenAlpin Ltd, Lachlan is also founder and a Director of European ATM Security Team Ltd (EAST), an independent and ‘not-for-profit’ international user group.  EAST has active membership from Banks and ATM Networks in the 31 states that make up the Single European Payments Area (SEPA), is supported by Europol and Eurojust, and is recognised by many central European bodies including the European Commission, the European Central Bank, the European Payments Council and the European Network Support and Information Agency (ENISA).  Lachlan plans and organises member and Board meetings around Europe, liaises with the press and media, produces European ATM Crime reports and a monthly news update, and manages the website and daily operations.  For more information on EAST see www.european-atm-security.eu

He has directly contributed to a white paper entitled ‘ATM Crime: Overview of the European situation and golden rules on how to avoid it’, published by ENISA, which offers information and advice to all EU citizens.  He is co-author of the Best Practice Manual for Physical ATM Security and Technical Editor for the ATM Cash Security Manual, both produced for the Global ATM Security Alliance (GASA), was European Security Adviser to ATMIA from November 2003 to December 2004 and was a Judge for the 2003 ATMIA Global Security Awards.  

Lachlan has spoken at 12 international security conferences in Europe since 2001 including events organised by NCR, Wincor Nixdorf and ATMIA.   He has twice addressed the European Plastic Card and Online Fraud conference, as well as ‘Fraud Europe’ and ‘Fraud World’.
