I got the email below from one of our lovely customers last week and to be honest I was quite offended but I do see his point and thought that maybe I should clear up a few points not just with him but with everybody.

Oct. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- I got the email below from one of our lovely customers last week and to be honest I was quite offended but I do see his point and thought that maybe I should clear up a few points not just with him but with everybody.

“raise prices and offer discounts ya? I think the discount for a lot of your stuff would want to be of the order of forty to fifty pc. Its old stock the most of it, like nearly two seasons, and at pre recession prices. Keep drinking the kool aid. A fenchurch top i bought off you for 25 ages ago is still on the site except now at 35 pounds. People are no so stupid as you would imagine.”

“raise prices” well that has happened but not through choice. When the new site went live it had many problems and this was one of them. We set prices when items arrive and after a season or so we drop them if we want to clear a brand we sometimes drop by about 40%, but this is one feature that is not working right now. The new programmer should have done it a week ago but didn’t he had other work to complete and got on with other work for us before going away on holiday this week.

“forty to fifty pc” If we dropped our price by 50% we would be losing money, it’s no sob story there is not has much money to be made in clothing as there once was add to that the increased cost of shipping which we still give FREE, bank charges which seem to be going up every week and the actually cost of goods. Do you know that when we buy from Europe the price of an item to us has increased by at least 25% this last 8 months.

“Keep drinking the kool aid” dunno I aint cool I just like clothes and think that it’s only fair that people have a choice otherwise we’d all be down Primark buying up the £2 t-shirts.

“People are no so stupid as you would imagine” nothing is further from the truth I love our customers, give me a call or jump on live support if you are a regular customer I will probably remember you and talk with you about stuff. I love this it’s more than a job it’s my life I don’t make a fortune but I get to meet nice people and make friends, get involved with interesting projects and selling clothes makes this possible. I believe in staying true to myself and being honest with other people, if anybody has ever called saying I’ve had this t-shirt a month can I return it I always say yeah, if an item is under performing (stitching coming undone, zip broke) send it back is always my first response.

So here’s the deal the 25% discount which is on every clothing item is extended until we can reduce the old stock (we've set it until 31st of this month), so that’s 25% off new current season and older stock, plus if you want to buy Addict, One True Saxon or Fenchurch email me and I’ll knock some more off, is that fair? Dont email me saying I’ll give you £5 for that old t-shirt you’ve had on site the last 2 years coz I’ll just give it away at some point but if you think I’m robbing you I’ll do a deal but I wont loose money otherwise I wont be here in another 10 years.
