Oct. 19, 2009 - PRLog -- According to the Mt Baldy Chamber of Commerce their free special season pass is a better deal than a discount ski lift ticket.

“Why get discount ski lift tickets when you can get a free season pass to ski or snowboard Mt Baldy,” states Keith Hunt President of the Mt Baldy Chamber of Commerce.

Mt Baldy is the closest mountain resort to Orange County, most of Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire in Southern Calfornia.

As part of a promotion to encourage more visitors to experience the resort the Mt Baldy Chamber of Commerce is giving away free special season passes.

“There are a few restrictions and a one-time 49.95 activation fee, but that’s it. No discount ski lift tickets to buy. You can ski or snowboard free all season long.”

“While there are skiers and snowboarders are jumping on the offer, some are skeptical and asking “Where’s the catch?”

“There isn’t a catch. We are simply using Mt Baldy’s best and most popular assets to promote the mountain.”

“It is amazing how many Southern California residents that can actually see Mt Baldy but still think that we are located at Mt High or Big Bear.”

Mt Baldy is located off the 210 freeway just minutes immediately north of Upland and Claremont.

Hunt continues, “With this type of promotion we want to put Mt Baldy back on the map and into the minds of local residents. But to achieve this we had to make the offer irresistible. So irresistible that it would make skiers or snowboarders blink and something they could not pass up.”

“With our offer skiers and snowboarders can actually afford to have two season passes, one to Mt Baldy and another to Mt High or Big Bear.”

“No more shopping for the best discount on ski lift tickets.”

Mt Baldy Ski Area announced today that they have made a mammoth increase in their snow making capabilities.

After 15 years of negotiation with the Forestry Service we were given permission to install a new 9 million gallon reservoir.

Mt Baldy Ski Lifts is operated under a Special Use Permit on the Angeles National Forest.

“The new reservoir is in, contains water, and ready for the upcoming season.”

“With the reservoir and the installation of additional guns our snow making capabilities has increased almost 50% over last season.’

“We really want to give these free special season passes so that more skiers and snowboarders can experience Mt Baldy,” concludes.

Take the Mountain Avenue exit in Upland off the 210 Freeway and go north following signs to Mt Baldy Resorts. Alternatively take the Baseline exit in Claremont and go north on Padua and turn right on Mt Baldy Road. Mt Baldy Road dead ends in the Ski Area parking lot.

The free special season pass to Mt Baldy is only available through the Mt Baldy Chamber of Commerce website at http://www.mtbaldychamber.com/promotions.lasso?from=PR5
