Oct. 19, 2009 - PRLog -- In the internet age, engineers and part buyers expect to have the information they need to make decisions at their fingertips. This is no easy task; for the millions of electronic parts in existence, data is scattered across thousands of websites and hundreds of catalogs. Octopart streamlines the process of finding parts by providing access to all of this data at one central location. Using Octopart, part buyers and engineers can search millions of parts across thousands of distributors and manufacturers by availability or technical specification.
"Design engineers and part buyers use Octopart because searching on Octopart saves time," said Sam Wurzel, Octopart CEO. "Rather than going from site to site searching for part availability or datasheets, an engineer can find that information in one place on Octopart. Our user interface is uncluttered and fast to load. We take the speed of our search engine very seriously."
Octopart is now helping manufacturers differentiate their parts from their competitors by offering free data uploads via the Company Tools interface. Customers need only sign up at https://octopart.com/tools/companytools after creating an Octopart account. With a click of the button, manufacturers can submit part information to list on Octopart and reach new customers within days.
"With Octopart's clean and simple user interface and OEM-friendly Company Tools, there is no reason not to provide part information on Octopart," said Jason Stipanuk, Web Marketing and Development Manager at Molex. "Our customers will be there looking for connectors and if they don't find our part numbers, they will certainly find the competition's!"
