Oct. 13, 2009 - PRLog -- Menifee, CA, October 16th — Evans Ranch School of Menifee, CA joins forces with groOrganic , a full service organic garden installation and maintenance company, to provide a fruit and vegetable garden for Kay Cinceros Senior Center.

Gardening is a universal activity that can be beneficial for any age group and bring communities together.  Lynda Hartman, fifth grade teacher at Evans Ranch School, states, “Our elementary school is so close to the senior center. I wanted a bridge between us so we can cross the generation gaps.”  Stephanie Ross, groOrganic Educational Coordinator and organizer of the project says, “The garden will allow the children and the seniors to connect in a positive nurturing environment.”

To reinforce their experience, the students will be studying the thirteen colonies and how the colonists grew their own food. groOrganic will present Evans Ranch School with a new unique gardening enrichment Curriculum Program that encompasses both California Board of Education Content Standards and State Standards.  The groOrganic Certified Curriculum teaches students of the importance of understanding our environment and how to protect it.

During the planting event, the fifth grade class will wear red, white, and blue in honor of our country and the soldiers who are fighting in the war. Ms. Hartman comments, “I’m so excited about this and so are the children.”
