Prevent Pet Cat Deaths in the Home! ALWAYS Check Dryer before using, as Kitty may be asleep inside!!

Oct. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- Every year hundreds of pet cats die as a result of climbing into a Clothes Dryer that someone had forgotten and left the dryer door open! This is one of the worst preventable tragedies that can occur in an otherwise safe pet environment. Just think... a pile of clean clothes in a quiet, dark place...."Where better a place to rest my weary bones." so says the family housecat!

                 Delayne Hiott, President of Top Cat Appliance Repair of Florida says "Over the last 16 years of performing Appliance Service Calls, my technicians and I have heard this story repeated several times. Unfortunately, I've even had to deal with it firsthand. Many years ago I arrived home from work to find that both of my girlfriend's four month old kittens had climbed into the clothes dryer and fell asleep on the warm towels left in the open dryer. She had started to remove the clothes when the phone rang, then put a few other items from the second wash inside since she had noticed earlier that the towels remained damp. She never noticed that while on the phone two tired kittens had found a new place to nap! I'll save you the details, but I will tell you that I don't think that she ever looked at a cat without feeling a little heartbreak over her own kitten's deaths. She felt so guilty and cried over this, even months later."

"The neatest thing I've seen that will resolve this problem, besides keeping the dryer door closed is to tape a picture of your special fluffy buddy on the dryer AND Front Loading Washing Machines. This will remind you and the kids to look inside before tossing clothes in and closing the dryer door. Also Remember to close the door after removing the clothes from the dryer. There are also refrigerator-type magnets made for this purpose. I checked online for you guys and found a pretty darn cute one for you.
