Oct. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- Tanja Maritsa is a UK based singer songwriter who effortlessly blends elements of jazz, folk and soul.  With a voice which has already been likened to many a great singer such as Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy, and Madeleine Peyroux and her own enchanting infectious melodies, Tanja has undoubtedly created her own unique signature style.

‘Live for Today` (out on the 12th of October !)  is a beautiful jazzy chanson number and the opening track to Tanja's second album 'Fragile'.  Already causing a stir across the UK, the album includes 10 tracks of her own material and two covers. It takes us on a journey of life and love from jazz (‘No More the Blues’, ‘Wont You Dance’) to folk (‘The Other Side of the World’, ‘La Catrina’) and world music (‘Fragile’, ’In Love Again’‘Libertango’), ending with the beautiful melancholic duet ‘Fading Grace’.

Tanja has again teamed up with the masterful American producer/arranger, Richard Niles, who has been a fixture on the London music scene for over 30 years and the album features an array of internationally renowned musicians who have worked with the likes of  Tina Turner, Paul Mcartney, WestLife, and Mick Jagger, to name but a few.

Special guest appearances include piano phenomenon, Gwilym Simcock, fêted by both the jazz and classical world and the first jazz musician to become a BBC New Generations artist, as well as world renowned oud player, Naseer Shamma!

Also Featuring on the album is keyboard player Richard Cottle (who has worked with David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Trevor Horn, AlanParsons and Eric Clapton), bassist Sam Burgess ('a stalwart of the UK jazz scene'.......whose 'relentlessly driving bass lines have been heard accompanying the likes of Bob James, Billy Kilson, and Gwyneth Herbert, ……, ) guitarist James Graydon (whose session credits include Westlife, Belinda Carlisle, Emma Bunton, ..) and drummer Gary O'Toole (Big Chief , Ewan McGregor/Nicole Kidman, Kylie Minogue )

Tanja Maritsa is on her way to becoming an international sensation and it won’t be long before her songs are alongside many of those great artists in time to come.
