Oct. 6, 2009 - PRLog -- Snowboarding Zone has just released a new section of their website that has all of the basics on Snowboard Half Pipe. This is part of a new community website that is all about Snowboard Half Pipe. Members and non-members can visit this Snowboard Half Pipe page on the Snowboarding Zone website for free at: http://snowboardingzone.org/.

Here is an excerpt from the new Snowboard Half Pipe information webpage:

"Years ago, it was very difficult for the perfect half pipe to be constructed.  Even though many resorts made attempts to construct a half pipe for their customers, the customers gave up on the idea of riding the half pipe and switched to other things such as picnic tables, rails and boxes.  Yes, they wanted to ride the half pipe and they wanted to achieve some air with their tricks; however, the problem actually was that the half pipes were poorly constructed and sometimes too narrow so the snowboarders couldn’t really achieve what they knew in their minds that they wanted to try.

There were a couple of half pipes that were built in the past that was perfect for the snowboarders who knew about them and actually got to ride on them.  With the help of a snowcat the basic formation of the half pipe was built.  To get the perfect half pipe usually meant that people had to shape and smooth the inner surface with their hands and when you are talking about something that could initially be 200 feet long and 60 feet wide with four foot tall side walls, that’s a massive job; however, something that size could be the starting point for some great fun and some even better tricks and stunts could be developed.  Several people in the snowboarding industry didn’t give up on the idea on the half pipe.  Half pipe competitions were being developed across the country."
