Jewelry Company Shows "a heart of gold" by donating to Asian Pacific Disasters

Online jewelry company in New Zealand helps provide aid to Asian Disasters through donating one-third of its "heart of gold" to Asian disaster relief.
 
Oct. 5, 2009 - PRLog -- Pacifika Spirit, an online jewelry company, has launched a "Heart of Gold Disaster Relief Campaign" where $10 US will be donated directly to help the victims of the earthquakes and subsequent tsunami in Indonesia and Samoa last week.

"So many people have shown their concern for this disaster and we personally know people who have been directly affected by the earthquake and tsunami," says online manager Lakshmi Gosyne. "We are looking for a way to allow our customers to learn more about these natural disasters as well as provide aid."

Last week, a huge earthquake struck Indonesia causing the destruction of many costal cities and towns. An estimated 1,100 are dead. Samoa got struck with a tsunami caused by a 8.0 magnitude earthquake and has devastated coastal towns and cities, leaving 100 dead.
