ANUGA, Cologne 2009: First Syrian olive oil placed third in the world by “Der Feinschmecker”

Oct. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- A German-based international food journal "Der Feinschmecker", selected "Al Motawasset" olive oil produced by Al Motawasset, Lattakia - Syria in the "Der Feinschmecker" International Olive Oil Competition 2009 as the third best olive oil out of over 2000 olive oils from around the world - the "Olio Award 2009". In addition, it was awarded first place as "Newcomer of the Year 2009".

In a commentary made by the magazine, "Der Feinschmecker" stated that Syrian olive oil is distinguished for its different hot flavours of sweet mint, walnut and pine.

The competition follows the stringiest international scientific and qualitative standards for selecting the best olive oils. With the Anuga Fair in Cologne, the worldwide biggest international food fair, “Al Motawasset Europe" is starting also the distribution within Europe.
