Nonprofit Executive Leadership Certificate Program at Rutgers Business School

Oct. 1, 2009 - PRLog -- Based on the belief that better leadership can be learned, The Nonprofit Executive Leadership Certificate Program is designed to teach leadership skills to Senior Executives of nonprofit organizations and foundations who want to advance their careers, gain credentials for enhancing their future, and reap the benefits of networking with experts and colleagues in the field. A distinguished group comprising Rutgers faculty members and nationally recognized practitioners conduct in-depth presentations and challenging discussions on a wide-range of topics that include ethics and accountability, nonprofit financial management for CEO’s, the strategic board, executive compensation, assessment and implementation of personal organizational values, and board and staff relationships.

Over a three day period, nonprofit executives are guided through a thorough and engaging curriculum that instructs on strong leadership values through assessments and training in emotional intelligence. Each section of the program is taught by prominent practitioners with field expertise. There is a follow-up session six months later to reinforce and re-evaluate the lessons learned.

Ken Berger, President and Chief Executive Officer, Charity Navigator speaking on Nonprofit Accountability and Transparency.
Bobbie Arbesfeld, Executive Vice President - Chief Operation Officer of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center presenting Nonprofit Financial Management.
Mark Light, President and Founder of the First Light Group focusing on The Strategic Board.
Judy Nichols, Deputy Director of External Affairs at the Brooklyn Public Library speaking on Raising of Nonprofit Funds.
Matt Statler, Richman Family Director of Business, Ethics and Social Impact Programming, Clinical Assistant Professor of Management and Organization at New York University Stern School of Business presenting Ethics, Leadership, and Creativity in the Nonprofit and For-profit Arena.
Bertina Ceccarelli, Senior Vice President, Institutional Advancement, United Way of New York City speaking on Leading through Communication.

The Certificate Program is being held at Rutgers Business School, 1 Washington Park, in Newark, NJ.  The dates are November 3, 4 and 5 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm plus a follow-up session April 2010.  Tuition is $1,500 and a number of 50% scholarships are available.
