Fish and Chip Shop Rising Above the Recession

A successful local Fish and Chip shop chain re-invest in their Kirkby-in-Ashfield shop.
Sept. 29, 2009 - PRLog -- George’s Tradition, who are well known throughout Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire for serving the highest quality Fish and Chips, are re-investing in their Kirkby-in-Ashfield shop.

The shop located on Kingsway, is undergoing a makeover to maintain the inviting atmosphere customers are used to.

Steven Walker, Manager of the Kirkby-in-Ashfield store explains: ‘As well as updating the décor and enhancing the seating area we are also adding a new grill to our kitchen, which has allowed us to introduce some new items to our menu.’

The grill is being utilised to create delicious new alternatives to Fish. The new dishes include a healthy Grilled Chicken Wrap which is cooked fresh to order with a choice of marinades.

Paul Thomson, Regeneration Manager for Ashfield County adds: "Ashfield District Council is always pleased to see businesses investing in the District, especially during these particularly challenging times, and would wish George's every success for the future."

Andrew Constantinou, Managing Director of George’s Tradition concludes: ‘In these times of recession and economic hardship we are getting used to seeing boarded up shops and places looking run-down. We are proud to be part of the community in Kirkby-in-Ashfield so being able to invest further in the area means a lot to us and hopefully our customers.’

With further projects converting an Ilkeston shop into a licensed restaurant and a new shop opening due in Chellaston, George’s Tradition continue to invest in local communities throughout the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire regions.

George’s Tradition of serving great fish and chips is long established. In fact, the company began as a family business back in 1967. It’s still run on the same basis today, only on a much larger scale.
