Sept. 27, 2009 - PRLog -- Dubai, United Arab Emirates: We all know that ‘anti-oxidants’ work miracles on the skin, water flushes out harmful substances from the body and that non-invasive surgical procedures such as botox and lasic-surgery are all the latest rage. People are concertedly opting to slow down the aging process rather than just reacting when it may already be too late.  Anti-aging medicine is a lucrative, ever-evolving industry and medical professionals are working tirelessly to refine their skills using the latest scientific and technological advances.

Following last year’s success, the second International Congress in Aesthetic, Anti-Aging Medicine & Medical Spa - (ICAAM) Middle East, will be held at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai between the 19 and 21 Nov 2009.

IIR Middle East Life Sciences division, organiser of the world's second largest healthcare show (Arab Health) and EuroMediCom, organiser of the world's largest aesthetic and anti-aging congress (AMWC), have joined together to design and execute the second edition of this comprehensive and exciting event.

The congress is dedicated to all aspects of the field and, under the scientific supervision of WOSAAM (World Society of Anti-Aging Medicine), the largest scientific anti-aging society with more than 130 affiliated associations worldwide, will bring together numerous well-known experts to showcase the latest techniques and technologies from this sector.

This year, ICAAM will also include a Medical Spa program in association with the International Medical Spa Association, offering a number of lectures and a conference addressing what every professional wants to know about this new business opportunity in the anti-aging field.

“This progressive multidisciplinary meeting is a ‘one of a kind’ designed to provide an update on aesthetic and anti-aging treatments, products and new technologies in a very practical and interactive format. ICAAM will be an unparalleled three-day educational experience, where each lecture effectively corresponds to an application in the daily practice of each physician attending the congress,” explains Christophe Luino, General Manager, Euromedicom.

For Aesthetics, the congress will explore non-invasive techniques and will present the latest developments using fillers for beautification for the face, lips, nose, and also for body reshaping with injectables and for the rejuvenation of the hands. Innovation using light treatments such as LED and the cosmetic use of hylauronic acid will also be explored.

Surgery will always play a crucial role in the field of anti-aging and the trend continues to move towards a less invasive approach with reduced scaring. Three surgical sets of themes will be underlined at ICAAM; the abdomen, surgical body-reshaping, and more specifically for the Middle East, treatments for the Arabic nose.

In terms of anti-aging medicine, stem cell therapies remain an important topic for the future of regenerative medicine.

“An important feature of ICAAM this year is to provide educational sessions in all fields, focusing on the most efficient and safe techniques, and therapies for patient’s satisfaction and profit for the physician,” says Mr Luino. “The main objective of ICAAM is to ensure that all aspects of anti-aging, such as aesthetic dermatology and surgery, preventive and well-being medicine can combine their respective knowledge to provide the best follow up and treatments for optimal “global anti-aging management” of the patient.”
