Don't Repair Old Toys?
Also, be careful about what you do to the toy before presenting it to interested buyers. While it may seem natural to repair any broken toys, you must keep in mind that many toy and game collectors are what you might call purists. They would rather have a broken toy in its pure, unrestored state than they would have a fixed toy that has been recently put back together or extensively cleaned.
This does not mean that you should not clean the toys before showing them. All dust should be removed with a clean cloth or brush. If there is dirt that is difficult to remove, be careful about taking it off with harsh cleaners or solvents because doing so may also remove paint and varnish.
Original Toy Packaging is Always Good
Finally, if you have any original packaging, do not discard it. As a general rule, toy collectors place a much higher value on a toy or game if it comes in its original packaging, no matter how badly damaged that packaging might be.
