Sept. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- La Granja Azul is a peruvian restaurant serving authentic peruvian food specializing in seafood like ceviche (citrus cooked seafood) and jalea (seasoned batter fried seafood), comida criolla (typical fare) like tacu tacu (rice and bean omelet) and health-friendly rotisserie chicken (pollo a la brasa) as well as Peruvian breakfasts on the weekends. Conveniently located on 2190 Woodbridge Avenue the restaurant is quickly enjoying a positive word of mouth promotion as well as their visible Peruvian flag proudly waving under the US flag right outside on the lawn, alerting compatriots that it is indeed an authentic Peruvian Restaurant.

Since their inception just three months ago they have received good reviews from their customers and local publications. "Our Ceviche has been mentioned as the best in town and our Pollo a la Brasa (Rotisserie Chicken) packs flavor on every bite, with devotees coming from as far as Connecticut and Virginia, to enjoy creations from Chef Mauricio's talented hands" says owner Cecilia Tapia. Chef Mauricio is a true Chalaco, born and raised in Callao, Peru, the country's main port city.

They pride themselves on preparing delicious, economic dishes from fresh products and following family recipes. "I learned to cook from my mother, watching while she and grandmother cooked, hoping to get a taste here and there. As a child I loved to eat right out of the pots. As an adult, I remembered my grandmothers & mother's recipies and began to cook on my own.  I came to this country where I became a Chef working in NY and NJ. As Chef I make sure to obtain authentic peruvian peppers, corn and other products to give our dishes the authentic peruvian flavor," says Chef Mauricio. He adds, "Our main goal is to provide our customers with excellent taste, quality and service."

"Peru’s cuisine is probably the best kept food secret in South America. A bounty of Pacific seafood, a fiendish enthusiasm for chiles and a confluence of Latino, Native American and even Japanese and Chinese influences make for a remarkable virtuosity" … Food & Wine Magazine, May, 1998.

La Granja Azul’s dining area is simple yet comfortable and welcoming. You can call ahead for your pick up order at (732) 777-7311.  Come discover healthy authentic Peruvian cuisine at La Granja Azul in accesible Edison, NJ.
