Sony have released a series of statements over the last week which have detailed their success since the launch of the Playstation 3 Slim. Fan boys should rejoice the fact that Sony seems set for an excellent Christmas sales period.

"Following the great success of the new, smaller, 120GB PS3, which sold over 1m units worldwide in its first three weeks on sale, the PS3 model with 250 HDD has the same hardware specifications as the current model, but with greater storage space, to offer consumers even more choice," Sony says.

This bundle will contain either two Platinum titles or inFamous. This will be followed on 16th October with an Uncharted 2 bundle. This will be followed on October 19th with a "Blu-Ray movie pack" containing Wolverine, Batman The Dark Knight and a 'Blu Ray Remote'.

Since the PS3 Slim has launched Sony has also announced that they have sold over 1 million consoles. A very impressive figure considering that we’re in the middle of a global recession and it’s not even the Christmas period yet. This could be the turning point for Sony this generation.

In regards to Sony’s motion control plans for the PS3 Slim, they announced that Resident Evil 5 will be released with the ability to use motion controls. Anyone that played Resident Evil 4 on the Wii will know how impressive and enjoyable it was. Time will tell whether it can work as well with Sony’s motion controller.
