Sept. 25, 2009 - PRLog -- For decades, kids, adults, celebrities, even former president Ronald Reagan have enjoyed flipping through comic pages. Now there’s a new comic that utilizes a new interface that empowers readers with an easier browsing experience from the traditional 24 page comic.
“It’s called Battle Gazer and it’s an online web comic that offers a bi-monthly, eight panel comic page to readers,” said Burundi Fletcher, site developer and creator of the comic series.
Inspired by action comics, such as Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Battle Gazer is an epic adventure of a lone hero who fights an age long war, only to discover himself in the process.
Not only can readers expect glamor and action, but according to a recent study by the American Medical Journal, reading comics as little as six minutes a day can reduce stress levels in kids and adults by 68%.
“Battle Gazer offers a unique story line, coupled with a traditional action comic,” Fletcher said.  “It's in the tradition of a typical 24 page comic. Currently Battle Gazer is a free website, but donations would be accepted.”
With the nation still struggling to rebound from the worst economic climate in 34 years, the launch of Battle Gazer could prove to have perfect timing.
“I need something to laugh about,” said Carson Thomas, 31, of Houston, an avid comic book reader. “For me, comics have a way of releiving stress and with everything else going on, I often times find myself reading the comics to keep things in pespective while still having a laugh or two when things aren’t so great in my personal life.”
Fletcher said readers can visit the site and surf the comic pages, gallery and submit comments.”
Future upgrades, Fletcher added, “ will include community features to allow users to upload images related to the comic, post comments and vote on comic related issues.”
Jason Harris, 23, of Katy, TX said he’s impressed with the Battle Gazer.
“ I went online to check out episode 1 and I immediately fell in love with the characters.” Harris said. “I’ve always loved reading comics and the fact that I don’t have to go out and buy one everyday and just logon to my computer and read this for free is right up my alley. I like it a lot and I’m sure that others will like it too.”
