Sept. 24, 2009 - PRLog -- Bellingham, WA – Multop Financial, out of love for the country and the local community, took part in the “call to action” for the National Day of Service and Remembrance on September 11, 2009. After contacting the Whatcom Volunteer Association with the offer to serve, the firm was informed of a need at the American Museum of Radio and Electricity, not only a local treasure of artifacts and history, but also an organization dedicated to education and learning, specifically for disadvantaged kids through their after school programs designed to provide the thrill of discovery and innovation. The Multop group offered a combined 30 hours of time to the museum that day, and helped with general maintenance tasks such as window washing, painting bathrooms, moving furniture and artifacts, dusting, polishing; all of which are important to the operation of the museum. Lynne Sherwood‐Parker, Executive Director of the American Museum of Radio and Electricity, expressed her excitement and appreciation for the Multop’s by saying, “So much has been accomplished in one day, we can’t believe it! With the limited manpower and financial resources we are faced with at the museum, it’s impossible to get everything done. Support like this is what keeps us going.” Phil Multop, owner and founder of Multop Financial shared his view of what the Day of Service and Remembrance really means. “To be living in this country, with all the possibilities and blessings available to us, we just can’t forget what it means. The American Museum of Radio and Electricity is a place where people of all ages can be inspired to invent, innovate and believe in the possibilities of imagination and determination. It’s powerful, and it’s important. We’re proud to have played a small part in it.” The Multop Financial volunteer group included Phil and Melanie Multop, Michael and Ginger Lamoreux, Tyler and Aretha Ryan, Gayle Miller and Andrew Knox.
