Military Spouses Helping Raise Funds for USA Cares’ Warrior Treatment Today Program

Military spouses across the country are creating “one of a kind” TShirts for their deployed loved ones through the TShirts 4 Soldiers. This is a unique and fun way for Americans to support our deployed troops, while helping wounded warriors.

Sept. 23, 2009 - PRLog -- Mesa AZ – The Home Sweet Home Campaign’s TShirts 4 Soldiers is not only helping people connect with their deployed loved ones, it is helping post 9/11 war veterans with PTSD and TBI receive the help they need.  Military spouses all over the country are creating designs and having them printed on tees to be sent to their loved ones.  The Home Sweet Home Campaign is proud to offer these tees to the general public on their website at www.OurSoldiers.org.

“We received and continue to receive designs that we truly feel would be a great addition to our offerings.  With permission from the individuals that created these designs, we are now able to offer preprinted tees for those that want to support the cause, but are not interested in creating their own TShirt design,” commented Beth Ann VanHoose, founder of the Home Sweet Home Campaign.

As the Campaign continues to draw attention and support, TShirts 4 Soldiers will look to add more heartfelt designs to their collection. Alaina Mitchell, an Air Force wife had this to say about her design and the campaign.  “ My husband Stephen has served 3 tours in Iraq with the US Air Force.  During his last deployment, we prayed every day for his safety and for the opportunity to stay stateside when he return home. Our prayers were answered; we got the good news that he was accepted as an instructor at Ft. Walton, Florida. That night I pulled out an old canvas that had been sitting in our room for months and began painting our dream that was finally coming to fruition.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to have my painting captured on a TShirt and featured on the Home Sweet Home website to help raise funds for our fellow service members and their families.”
For every TShirt sold, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to USA Cares Warrior Treatment Today Program.  This USA Cares program seeks to remove the financial barrier that prohibits veterans who have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), receive the treatment they need.  Deirdre, a wife of a deployed soldier and daughter of a Vietnam Vet who suffered from PTSD, was thrilled to support the cause and design a special TShirt for her husband. When asked about the program she said, “A soldier thousands and thousands of miles away in a foreign land will smile once again... upon receiving this TShirt!  The Happiness is PRICELESS!  I can’t thank the Home Sweet Home Campaign enough!” Deirdre’s design is also available at www.OurSoldiers.org.

About the Home Sweet Home Campaign
The Home Sweet Home Campaign was inspired by Tim Little; a US Army reservist who served two tours in the Middle East and currently suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  Little and his family nearly lost their home while he was being evaluated by the VA, but thanks to USA Cares, they were able to stay in their home and focus on the future and healing.

The Home Sweet Home Campaign has pledged to raise $1 million for USA Cares Warrior Treatment Today Program.  Raising funds through the TShirts 4 Soldiers and Groups That Care programs, the Campaign will be helping wounded veterans and their families keep their homes while the veteran receives the treatment he or she needs and deserves.  For every product sold, a portion of the proceeds will be donated directly to USA Cares.  To learn more about the Campaign’s TShirts 4 Soldiers and USA Cares, go to www.OurSoldiers.org or contact Beth Ann VanHoose at 618-567-1384 or via e-mail at Beth@OurSoldiers.org
