Author of the Groucho Club expose book victim of illegal bugging operation

Tyrone D Murphy, filmmaker and author of the expose book on the Groucho Club "The Groucho Gate Affair” was the victim of another odd occurrence when someone attempted an illegal bugging operation at his home near Caerleon, Newport.

Sept. 22, 2009 - PRLog -- An individual with a London accent was disturbed attaching an electronic telephone tap onto the telephone line at the filmmaker’s home in the late evening on the 21st September. The police in Newport responded and attended the scene after the author disturbed the culprit and chased him off.

The Police in Newport have seized electronic bugging equipment and tools left behind by the perpetrator as he fled. They are also analyzing CCTV footage of the incident and are pursuing a line of enquiry.

Tyrone D Murphy said “there is no doubt in my mind that I am under surveillance and have been for the past year”. He went on to say “this type of illegal electronic surveillance demonstrates that some people are spending serious money to find out what my activities are and what I know ”

This incident comes after a series of other incidents which include someone going through the rubbish bins at his home and being following by separate individuals throughout the past year. When asked if he knew who the perpetrators were he stated “I am pretty sure who is behind this but I cannot say for legal reasons, I do know however that the Police are pursuing a line of inquiry”
