By: David Moakler of CareConnect USA The relief agency gathered his information and proposed an Offer in Compromise to the IRS, based upon his net worth and future income potential. After it was initially declined, they appealed the decision and settled at a reduced amount of $3754.00, a reduction of almost $144,000. This type of drastic tax relief is not uncommon under hardship circumstances. A single mom from Sterling, VA owed over $52,000 to the IRS. She was connected with another tax relief center in her local area. Since she desperately needed a fresh start, the agency submitted the necessary forms to the IRS emphasizing her recent job loss, and lack of ability to pay. The IRS reluctantly accepted $10 to settle all of her back taxes. The Tax Relief Hotline is just one of several managed by CareConnect USA. The group initially created the helplines for America’s social workers to assist their clients with money troubles. As of September 2009, over 80,000 workplace break rooms feature the CareConnect USA poster with free help lines for employees and their families. Other hotlines assist with debt relief , collection complaints, foreclosure assistance, free bankruptcy advice, discount prescriptions, and ID theft recovery. Many non-profit and civic organizations find the hotlines a useful resource for their troubled families.
