New Muay Thai classes at Anantara Koh Samui Resort & Spa

Sept. 22, 2009 - PRLog -- The secrets of Thailand's famed martial art are unlocked in a new innovation at Anantara Koh Samui Resort & Spa, Thailand.

Guests are being offered an amazing opportunity to learn the techniques and philosophies of Muay Thai under the guidance of a leading trainer amid the stunning beauty of one of Thailand's most magical island paradises.

Muay Thai is a traditional form of boxing that is deeply entwined with the history of Thailand itself. A self-defense technique, a sport, a science and an art form, Muay Thai boosts physical strength, stamina and inner poise. Guests will learn how to use different parts of their body as a weapon - not just their fists and legs, but also their knees, elbows, hands, and chin.

Offering an immersion in authentic cultural experiences that lie at the heart of Anantara, the classes will be led by Chueng Pinijnart, a professional Thai boxing trainer who studied at the nearby Muay Thai school in Surat Thani.

Classes, which are offered as a one-hour introductory session up to a full one-week course, take place in the beautiful lush gardens that surround Anantara Koh Samui Resort & Spa or in the air-conditioned comfort of the Grand Ballroom.

Thai Boxing is an amazing way of boosting overall body fitness as well as leading to an overall improvement in determination, self-confidence and courage and is open to both men and women. There are even special classes for children over the age of 12.
