Sept. 21, 2009 - PRLog -- Members of The American Widow Project,  a non-profit organization dedicated to this generation's military widows, will be coming together on September 25th, 2009 in Gatlinburg, TN to celebrate bond due to connection they all share of losing their loved one in the military.  The organization holds events throughout the country to bring military widows together to celebrate their survival, honor their sacrifice, and give them an environment that allows them to thrive on their new journey. The weekend will be filled with horseback riding, a cabin retreat in the Smoky Mountains, and a relaxing day at the spa to cap off the celebration of life, service, and sacrifice.

This organization was the creation of Taryn Davis, who lost her husband, Corporal Michael Davis, in Iraq May 21, 2007. She began traveling around the country to hear other women's stories of love, tragedy and overall survival. What began as her personal journey has expanded into a non-profit organization, a documentary film, and a growing website.
