Myocardium Technologies Launches New MTMICRO Product Series for Automatic High Resolution ECG
Microcardiography Recording System, Strapped to Chest, Automatically Acquires Cardiac Micropotentials and Generates Clinical Report
While tools such as thermometers and blood pressure monitors allow a physician to check the patient's vital signs in a routine visit, no clinical tool exists today that allows the physician to check the heart's vital signs quickly during the initial patient-doctor interaction. The MTMICRO1, a one channel microcardiography system, allows electrodes to be connected without applying gels or patient preparation. Connecting the microcardiograph to a laptop activates the clinical analysis software that processes and presents the microcardiogram without user intervention. The company intends to launch a series of products beginning with MTMICRO1, providing electrocardiographic evidence in resolutions that are at least thousand times greater than that of standard ECGs.
"MTMICRO1 signals the entry of our products into the clinical world", said Suresh Narayanaswamy, CEO and Chief Scientist of Myocardium Technologies. "Patients undergo a ECG test based on results from a blood test, high blood pressure, or chest discomfort. The launch of the MTMICRO1 allows the physician or nurse to track the heart's condition as easy as taking a patient's blood pressure reading. The MTMICRO1 is a significant achievement in our efforts to provide advanced cardiovascular tools for preventive cardiology."
A pioneer in advanced, non-invasive cardiology products, Myocardium Technologies team includes original contributors of high resolution electrocardiography and electrophysiology. With research and development dating back to 1996, the company intensified its efforts to commercialize its technologies over the past few years. In addition to innovative cardiology products, the company provides product customizations as a service to customers. The MTMICRO1 is commercially available only to medical centers and hospitals for research purposes, and is not yet FDA approved.
