Sept. 18, 2009 - PRLog -- Father Joseph Nicolo was the principal celebrant, joined by Father George Szparpgowski and Parish Deacon Donald Kretsch.

The mass was attended by many local area police departments, fire companies and paramedics representing Whitpain, Upper Providence and others, as well as the Second Alarmers of Willow Grove and Montgomery County Detectives. Several state, county, and local dignitaries and elected officials attended which added to the solemnity of the celebration. Students from Saint Helena School, brownies, girl scouts and boy scouts also attended. After the mass, light refreshments and fellowship were enjoyed.

The Saint Helena Adult Choir provided uplifting music selection. Cheryl Moser, Choir Director, later commented to the choir “I wanted to thank you all from the very bottom of my heart for your participation. You were absolutely fabulous. Everyone I spoke with said that you brought them to tears with your inspirational music. I was so proud to be part of the St. Helena Music Ministry last night and I cannot thank you enough for giving your time and talent for this very worthy cause. I know Father Nicolo was very happy and I can't thank the Knights of Columbus enough for inviting us to participate in this mass. It was such an honor to be able to give to the community in this way. Watching the Knights of Columbus and the men and women in uniform was a thrill.”
