Healing Art Brings Stress Reduction to the Workplace

Artprize Competition brings attention to the Healing Art of Jeanne Coe

Sept. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- Grand Rapids, MI:  Fine Artist Jeanne Coe’s healing artwork is entered in the Artprize competition for everyone to experience. Scheduled to be on display at Spectrum Health’s Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion, a Dimensions series painting was chosen for exhibition is a Triptych entitled “Healing Power of the Holy Spirit”.
When asked how the artwork is actually healing, Coe who holds a bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, explains, “It is mixed medium with an airbrushed background and an acrylic overlay. The natural minerals of the gold & silver leaf along with the copper dot help us realize the healing powers within ourselves.  The organic hues stimulate growth and remind us of our sense of blessings, powers & self worth. The effects leave the individual refreshed and with a feeling of limitlessness.
"Using transparent overlays of primary color, which stimulate intellectual thoughts and growth patterns, on the airbrushed background, I combine application techniques of the old masters with modern technology and color psychology. I apply a strong acrylic overlay that has actual minerals. This revitalizes you after the natural color balance of the airbrushed background has relaxed you" explains Coe. These truly beautiful paintings have had a very positive response from collectors over the years. Everyone relates to their perceived images and themes in 'Dimensions' paintings".
A collector of Coe’s art, Susan Sheley of Byron Center, MI has experienced the healing properties of the Dimensions artwork. “For the past couple of years I have felt like the ball of yarn a kitten is playing with, being batted back and forth. Since adding Jeanne’s original art to my home, that feeling is gone and I am more focused.” Sheley believes that many could benefit from the stress reducing effects that the artwork has.
Sheley, Owner of Creating Demand, a Marketing Strategy agency is no stranger to picking the trends. As a former Department Store Buyer, Sheley sees the artwork as a positive entry into the Human Resources arena. “With current economic conditions, employees are stressed, their bosses are stressed. How can people perform productively? Being in the presence of this artwork calms and energizes at the same time.” Sheley adds “When I am delivering artwork, people off the street will tell me how there is something about it to them, but they can’t explain it.”
As a nationally recognized Fine Artist for her Dimensions series of Healing Art, Jeanne Coe’s life has been devoted to art & its positive effect on people.  She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Rockford College with an emphasis on the psychology of art & the effects of color.  Jeanne Coe has been recognized for excellence in both composition & technique.  She creates her art in the spirit of bringing beauty & harmony to all that it touches.  Her work has been described by the New York Times as “sophisticated, contemporary”.
