New Opportunity In The Australia Recruitment Market

New opportunity in the Australia recruitment market

Sept. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- Australia job advertisements rose for the first time after 16 months in August, may serve as an indication of a possible recovery in the Australia job market and the recruitment industry.

Unarguably, the GFC has dragged down not only the financial industry but also many related sectors as well. Recruitment companies who used to provide supporting services for those financial giants are among one of the hardest hit.

In the wake of the GFC, recruiters are reminded to think ahead and plan for their future growth path. So what opportunities and dangers are lying ahead?

It is unlikely, the banking & financial sector will start to recruit very soon. Recruitment companies who had been successful in dealing in these sectors should consider moving ahead and hunt for new opportunities.

As a journalist who constantly in touch with MNCs, I find that while most of the US and Australian companies are reluctant to employ new workforce, their Asian counterparts are doing quite the opposite.

Most of the Chinese CEOs I worked with in the recent past told me that they are indeed looking for international expansion. It is common sense that as the economy bottoms, assets are getting relatively cheap and it is a good time for those cash rich companies aim for further expansion.

China, as Australian largest trading partner, it is only natural for these Chinese companies to setup their offices on the Australian soil as well.

Many of the Australian recruiters see the growth potential in Asia and strategically placing their offices in the area. Some of the Australian recruiters with significant presence in the Asia region include Talent2, Clarius Group, Julia Ross, Ambition.

The phenomenon growth of Asia also spurs further domestic demand for Asian recruiters in the Australia recruitment market.  And it is a demand far from being met.

During a HKABA conference, a Chinese businessman confided “We are looking for an Asian recruiter who can speak our language and understand our culture, to help us to fill our office in Sydney, but we couldn’t find any recruiters who are specialized in this field.”

Due to my work, I frequently get in touch with many potential employers in China and Australia. Interested recruitment agencies who are keen to develop the Asian market in Sydney or China, please do not hesitate to give me a call on +61 414 868 396 or email asa_eugene@hotmail.com to discuss.
