Susan McCray Helps Celebrate Bonanza Day at The Autry Museum

Television/Film Casting Director and Host of "Getting To Know You" on KSAV.org takes part in the 50th Anniversary celebration of the most beloved and long - running Western television series Bonanza held at the Autry National Center Sept. 20th.

Sept. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- Susan McCray, Casting Director, Producer, and Host of "Getting To Know You" on KSAV.org will participate in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the long running and most beloved television Western "Bonanza" and the career achievements of its creator, David Dortort Sunday, September 20th at the Autry National Center. The Dortort family and Bonanza experts greet guests and answer questions in the Autry's Imagination Gallery. Ms. McCray began her successful casting career as casting assistant for Bonanza and the western series The High Chaparral at Paramount Studios in 1968. Susan McCray's father, Oscar Winning Composer, Harry Sukman, was composer for Bonanza and The High Chaparral. Susan's husband, Television and Film Producer, Kent McCray, Produced Bonanza and The High Chaparral. To Susan McCray, Bonanza Day is Family Day.

Susan McCray hosts a weekly radio show with yesterday’s and today's favorite artists, actors and musicians called Getting To Know You with Susan McCray, at www.KSAV.org.  The show is available as a Podcast Join Susan every Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm PST/9:30 pm EST for a half hour of interviews, tributes, and interesting talks with successful people from all walks of life.

Susan McCray’s list of accomplishments reads like a scrapbook of your favorite memories.  She learned the craft of television casting while working on classic television shows Bonanza. The High Chaparral,  Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Mannix, The Odd Couple, Hawaii 5-0, and many others.  As VP of  talent for Michael Landon, Susan cast Little House on the Prairie, Highway to Heaven, and Father Murphy.  With her husband, producer Kent McCray, she produced acclaimed television movie tribute to their dear friend Michael Landon, Memories with Laughter and Love.
