Sept. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- If you’ve looked into self-publishing, you’ve probably heard of Lulu and iUniverse, two of the best-known players. Why are they so well-known? Because they provide services to authors from A to Z. If you feel that you can take on some of the author services usually sold by Lulu and such all by yourself, you may also have heard about CreateSpace and Lightning Source. CreateSpace is the low-service print-on-demand arm of Amazon. And Lightning Source is the little-known POD industry leader, the printer that provides the backbone to front-end companies such as Lulu and iUniverse. While Lulu works with authors, Lightning Source works solely with publishers.

If you want to work with Lightning Source or CreateSpace, or possibly both, you’ll have to master many elements of the book production process, from design to editing to heavy graphic work. This will lead to a great many challenges.

How to meet them? A Site About Nothing is pleased to announce the launch of a free tutorial explaining how to work with Lightning Source and CreateSpace. “I hope to have created the best website with POD resources to publish with Lightning Source and CreateSpace,” says Andy. “Or at least, one in the top ten.” Joke aside, it’s a great resource. Please visit, comment, bookmark and share.
