Digital Gold Increases Local Budgets

Camera flashes are an everyday occurrence at thousands of intersections across America and the resulting flash is indicative of the old cash registers “Ka Ching” as local communities line their coffers at your expense.

Sept. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- American drivers fight back as more and more realize it’s not just the bad drivers getting a surprise in the mail.  As the economy sinks deeper into recession the photo enforcement industry is booming and community leaders via for their opportunity at the money trough.  According to Jeff Jackson, the CEO of the website www.poi-feeder.com, many drivers are fighting back against what they see as unjust enforcement by downloading the locations of all known “Red Light Cameras” in their vicinity to a GPS unit.  These devices can then be set to give an audible alert as you approach a photo enforced intersection.

Chicago, Illinois - June 01, 2009
“Caution approaching a Red Light Camera” emanates from the tiny electronic device as it approaches the infected intersection.  The driver knows there is a fine line between right and wrong and it’s called that big white line just before the intersection; your failure to stop completely before reaching that line results in a barrage of flashes that seem to ricochet off your rearview mirror and straight into your eyes activating that Oh No button in your brain.  The American people have had enough and are starting to arm themselves with the latest technology as they fight to keep their precious dollars where they belong, in their own pockets.  The people’s choice of weapons is the GPS or Global Positioning Satellite Receiver and their ammunition is POI’s also know as Points of Interest.  The POI holds the location of the enemy, the Red light Camera and a prescribed distance that the driver would like to be notified.  The GPS reads in the POI information and compares it to the driver’s current location activating the alert if the unit is within the specified distance.  According to Jeff Jackson, CEO of the website www.poi-feeder.com “The Red Light Camera database is our most downloaded item and as GPS units continue to fly off the shelves we anticipate it to remain our most active download for many years to come”.  Mr. Jackson also related that they created a YouTube video entitled Red Light Camera Avoidance, which was shot at the intersection of Rowhling Rd and Biesterfield Rd in Elk Grove Village Illinois.  The footage shows several vehicles tripping the camera and to his surprise he was informed that the crew shot less than 30 minutes of video in the entire production. Mr. Jackson’s final quote “No matter how perfect you think your driving is, odds are you or a loved one will experience the flash first hand, the result of hundreds of new camera’s being installed each year as communities attempt to line their coffers with digital gold”.
