Sept. 12, 2009 - PRLog -- SAN FRANCISCO  --  Nearly three dozen career experts will meet to help frustrated job-seekers at the Career ReBoot Camp, on October 26 – 27 in San Rafael, CA.  It’s the largest career event of its kind in the U.S.

Richard Bolles, author of the 10-million copy bestselling career guide What Color Is Your Parachute? will be the Keynote Speaker at the 2-day event.

“The job market has changed dramatically in just the past two years,“ said Career ReBoot Camp Director Carol Ann Wentworth.  “Anyone who hasn’t looked for a job in a while will be surprised at how complex the process has gotten.  Now job seekers must understand new tools like social internet media, behavioral interviewing and personal branding.  It’s not your father’s job market.”

Job-seekers face a stubborn 9.7% unemployment rate and a much longer job search.  According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

•   15 million are unemployed
•   11 million are under-employed
•   It takes nearly half a year (25.1 weeks) on average to find a job

The Career ReBoot Camp provides the tools, resources and guidance job-seekers need to be competitive in the tightest job market in more than 70 years.   Subjects include Effective Networking, Image and Personal Branding, Resume Design, Staying Motivated, Working with Recruiters, Interviewing and Online Social Media.

Participants also receive a headshot photo by a professional photographer and a video of themselves in a mock interview.  “The interview is the most important step in the hiring process yet less than 1% analyze their interviewing skills with a video,” said Wentworth. “It can be eye-opening.”

Speakers include Dr. Lynn Joseph, creator of The Job-Loss Recovery Program, honored by the U.S. Health and Human Services Department for its effectiveness.  Nearly two-thirds (62%) of job-seekers found work after two months compared with 12% for a control group that did not follow the program.

Grammy-nominated musician Freddie Ravel, a keyboardist in Carlos Santana’s band, will present his innovative Tune Up to Success!, which uses music to empower successful thinking.  He will also perform at the event.

Other speakers include Anne Brown, author of From Grad to Great; Marky Stein, author of Fearless Resumes; Amy Frost, author of When Work Isn't Working; Anat Baniel, author of Move Into Life; Ron Nash, author of How to Find Your Dream Job---Even in a Recession, and "Mega Manifestor" Darren Jacklin, author of Living The Law of Attraction.
