Green Shoots Emerging at UK’s Recycling & Waste Management Exhibition

And nowhere is there greater evidence of the growing role recycling and waste management is playing in the revival of the UK economy than at RWM 09 (the Recycling & Waste Management Exhibition), taking place at the Birmingham NEC from 15 to 17 September 2009.

As the country’s largest trade exhibition for the waste and recycling industry RWM 09 has attracted more exhibiting companies than ever before and visitor numbers are forecast to reach a record high. Show highlights will include:

•   Over 500 exhibiting companies displaying a host of recycling innovations
•   36 thought-leading seminars across 3 seminar theatres focusing on local authority, business and energy& water issues
•   Green experts from leading retailers including Asda, Marks & Spencer and Sainsbury’s reveal their strategies for tackling waste
•   Other speakers include waste guru Peter Jones OBE and representatives from Wates, LloydsTSB, DEFRA, Miller Homes, the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP), and the Environment Agency
•   New Korean pavilion brings an even greater international flavour to the exhibition
•   Dry and food waste generated at the show processed on-site

Visitors will be able to see companies and organisations operating in all parts of the supply chain from suppliers of bins, recyclers of a wide range of materials including paper, metals and plastics to environmental consultants and waste management companies.
•   Food waste technology: a third of UK food goes to waste according to WRAP. RWM exhibitors offer carbon neutral biofuels, anaerobic digestion and industrial composting
•   Bins and boxes of every size and shape. Unicorn Containers will unveil its new range of plastic street litter bins, as featured on BBC1’s Beat The Boss programme this week.
•   Technology: from weighing systems and waste tracking technology to bin monitoring systems that tell you when they need emptying
•   Vehicles, Plant & Equipment including an array of giant new machines and systems for separating and processing waste with vehicles in the extensive outdoor area.
