Sept. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- TEFL experts i-to-i have today launched an innovative new range of TEFL videos demonstrating how English is taught in a real-life classroom.

The suite of 45 videos, called TEFL TV, is designed to help those who are new to TEFL (or just haven’t been in the classroom for a while) understand how specific subjects can be taught in real-life TEFL classrooms. The 2-7 minute videos cover everything from how to teach basics such as grammar and pronunciation, through to fun games and activities and even advice on professional development.

For those who have never set foot in a TEFL classroom before, or just want to improve their teaching skills, TEFL TV gives a real insight into how a language class works and the different techniques needed to become a successful English teacher: the ability to elicit responses from pupils, how to engage students with interactive games and the different stages of an EFL lesson. To make them even more practical, each video includes tips of how to expand on the lessons to use in your own classroom. An example video can be seen at http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-tv/.

Andrew Jack, head of TEFL at i-to-i, said: “We hope TEFL TV will give new English language teachers a wealth of lesson ideas and all the information they need to incorporate them into their own classrooms.”

TEFL TV is designed to be incredibly portable and convenient. The videos are accessed initially through i-to-i’s state-of-the-art course system, Moodle, but as they’re in MP4 format, can easily be downloaded to be watched on the move on a person’s iPod or iPhone. Ideal for any new TEFL teacher who’s going abroad to teach and wants something useful to watch on their flight!

While TEFL TV is available to be bought as a standalone product, it also works fantastically as a supplement to i-to-i’s new, improved online TEFL course. Students learn all the TEFL theory they need on the online course, then see that theory being put into practice on TEFL TV. Plus, as it’s all done online, students can study whenever and wherever they want – from the comfort of their own home, office, garden, even while on the road.

TEFL TV costs £47 ($97) for lifetime access to all 45 videos, but costs as little as £17 ($37) when bought as a package with i-to-i’s comprehensive 120 hour combined TEFL course or 100 hour online TEFL course in September.
