Sept. 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Unified Communications, the theme for this year's EVUA October conference, is certain to spark new ideas and perspectives among those attending. Expected to drive the buzz is the agenda of notable industry experts who will discuss the future of Unified Communications in the enterprise. The conference will also discuss how enterprises can reduce their costs now that TCO is more important to CFOs than ROI.

The two-day event will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal on October 21st & 22nd 2009. Highlights include fascinating presentations from end-users, suppliers, and industry analysts, Ovum. There will be a number of lively panel discussions together with opportunities to network with colleagues from the ICT industry. Ovum will also share the trends from this year’s Unified Communications survey.

Some of the presentations scheduled for this year's UC Conference include:

Unified Communications

• Jose Antonio Cesfranjo will talk about what Unified Communications means to the Telefonica group.
• Jon Neville, EVUA’s General Manager, will look at why the void between what UC suppliers are offering and what enterprises are adopting is growing wider, with his presentation entitled “So you’ve chosen to go UC; what’s next?”.

Enterprise Cost Savings

• Cees van Duijn from KPN International will talk about practical ways enterprises can reduce costs and boost employee productivity.
• Laurent Bouchoucha from Alcatel-Lucent will discuss ways of implementing new sourcing strategies to save money and deploy new services.
• Orange Business Services will present on how Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) can manage the efficiency and flexibility of your IT infrastructure.

Telecom Expense Management

• With enterprises become ever more cost conscious in this economic downturn, EVUA suppliers EZWIM, Tactem, Tangoe and Spendvision will update us on how their particular services can help reduce TCO.
